Hollywood Bowl

A few nights ago, I went to an amazing concert at the Hollywood Bowl: Gavin DeGraw, Train, and Maroon 5. I'd been waiting for this concert for months, and I have to say it was absolutely worth the wait. All three groups blew me away. It's rare for musicians to be that incredible live. Those are the types of groups that will be around forever, that will stick, that will be remembered.

I went to the concert with my best friend, my sister, and her friend. We started off the night by missing our shuttle, but we managed to beat the notorious LA traffic (almost unheard of) and make the concert with time to spare. We found our way to our seats (which were right in the middle and pretty great, especially considering the concert was sold out) and ate our Porta Via sandwiches as Gavin DeGraw completely blew my mine. He sang my favorites (Chariot, In Love with a Girl) beautifully and I fell in love with his voice all over again.

Next came Train. I don't even know where to begin with them... they were that good. Train whistles sounded, bright lights flashed on and they were ready to rock. Patrick Monahan is a great performer and pulled out all the stops: he brought girls up, he danced, he had slide shows, he even threw a Blondie/U2 mash- up in there! Nonstop fun and brilliant entertainment. I didn't expect them to be as great as they were. They one me over with perfect renditions of Marry Me, Hey Soul Sister, and Drops of Jupiter (my all time favorite).

Maroon 5 took the stage last and came out swinging. They opened with Moves Like Jagger, which I have to say I am not a huge fan of at all. However they made up for it by singing all of my old favorites (She Will be Loved, Misery, This Love, Sunday Morning) and even one of their new songs (Never Gonna Leave This Bed). I surprised myself by knowing nearly every word to all of their songs... I'm pretty proud, not going to lie! They brought out their first fan ever to sit on the stage and be serenaded by not only Maroon 5, but the whole Hollywood Bowl--with a little encouragement from Levine, because after all, this is LA ;)-- during She Will Be Loved. However, my favorite moment of the whole concert would have to be when Adam Levine brought Stevie Nicks out to do a duet of Leather & Lace. Un-freaking-real. I will never forget that moment.

What an amazing concert, at an amazing venue, in an amazing city.
